Herman J. Wilhelm born on March 7, 1921 in New Jersey according to census records.  He lived on 104, 7th Street Englewood Cliffs, NJ, but by the 1940 Census the family had moved to Wolfe Street in South Hackensack,
New Jersey.

Herman J. Wilhelm was Missing in Action March 13, 1945 in North Africa, less than two months from the end of the War in Europe on May 7, 1945.

Herman J. Wilhelm was a Private First Class in the Infantry and is memorialized as giving his life in the line of service in North Africa at the age of 24 on a Memorial Plaque at the North African American Cemetery and Memorial Carthage, Tunis.

Herman J. Wilhelm’s name is on the Wall because his remains were never recovered. We do not know the events which lead to Herman J. Wilhelm being Missing in Action at this time.
